Karin Beaumont and Sally Brown We are both metal-workers, intrigued by the origins of objects, and drawn to natural forms, and traditional processes. We embraced the project with a desire to work together on all aspects of design and production. While heating and hammering we forged metal, friendship and trust, both in our individual sense of aesthetic and our practical abilities. Every aspect of the piece challenged us. While the materials were familiar, the processes we used were new to us both. The final piece, rather than reflecting previous work, is indicative of where we aim to take our respective practises in the future. |
